Subject: Expedition and potential sparring partners

Hey guys! That was a crazy feast. All that was missing was some good alcohol, but those tapirs really know how to throw a party.

Anyway, I was thinking and we don't really know much about this place or what's outside the town. Since we'll need to start heading into the forests for hunting and gathering other resources, was thinking of heading out to check it out. Plus aren't these fae things our neighbors now? Or I guess we're their new neighbors...? Can't hurt to see what's there.

There are also those redcaps we need to deal with if we want any iron. I'm not sure about anyone else, but as a swordsman I definitely have a vested interest in that.

...And maybe I want to see how tough they are, haha.




Yeah, okay, I just want to see what kind of tough monsters are out there, heh. Not that I want to make enemies out of allies, but never hurts to know what kind of threats there are, right? Who knows, we might be helping them out, too.

[No, he just wants to find the biggest and strongest thing there is and fight it.]

Speaking of, if anyone needs a sparring partner, I'm your daemon. I'm curious to see how my skills stack up against those from different worlds.

Just be careful about mushroom rings if you're going into fae territory- aka avoid walking into them. I can see about going with you but I'll need to make sure someone's looking after Nanako before I commit to it.


I'd take you up on sparing but unfortunately I don't have Excalibur anymore.

And that's a shame, I take it Excalibur is the name of your weapon? What kind?

Usually it means you get pulled into the fae's domain, and Fae can be... temperamental at best, deadly at worst. They don't think like humans do, simply put.

That and supposedly time runs different in their world. 3 days there could be hundreds in our own. So better safe than sorry.

Nah, it wasn't mine, it belonged to the person I was borrowing power from; King Arthur. I don't think that particular story carried over to your world if I remember right...

It was a broadsword, with pretty potent holy/magic powers. Sort of considered 'the' Legendary sword by European standards compared to where I'm from.

Yikes, that would suck. So it's just a ring of mushrooms, right? Anything else to them?

And nope, never heard of King Arthur. [Although...Artorius is kind of close. And it's too bad he has no idea that Artorius's sword is called the other name for Excalibur, hah.] But a legendary, holy sword...damn, would have loved to test Stormhowl and Kurogane against it.

Plenty of things, almost too many to keep track of. But if the Red Caps are fairies, it's odd that they grabbed all the iron, since that's supposed to repel fairies, witches and other European based things.

Also don't give them your real name if they ask.

I'm not especially well versed in this stuff, mind you. This was all fairy tales and folklore where and when I'm from, so I didn't pay it much mind, till I was forced to in the Index.

Well, you gave me some training in the Index, so a version of you got to fight it, though not with those two swords I don't think.

Ugh, is it possible to be jealous of yourself? I keep hearing these cool things my other selves do in these other worlds! Guess I'll just have to outdo them all here.

Always possible with exceptions. Seems like with yokai, the lines a bit blurry at times.
