I was not aware that a special holiday known as Halloween was coming up! To celebrate, I figured I should tell you one spooky tale from my world.

Have you ever heard of a story called A Hungry Ghost? They are spirits that linger into our world should they have done any terrible crimes when they're alive. Due to their greed, whether it is money or for something else, they are never satisficed. What a pity as their poor souls could not move into the afterlife. They venture in search of food. Makes me wonder just how long it'll be before they go after people too...

Although, should you want more spooky tales from Liyue? Feel free to let me know as I do wish to tell people a little bit more about my world! Nothing like getting into a spooky mood, no?

Most from Mondstadt and Fontaine would associate them with angelic features as they go and help people.

I'm definitely not.

And yeah, most people would associate them with that. I very much do not. Especially not the helping people part.

I feel as though I am missing a story.

How did you encounter such creatures anyway? It must have been quite the experience for you to say such a thing.

It's a long story.

Just know I don't like them in the slightest now that I know the truth of how they actually work.

I don't.

Also I don't really want to.

That's fine, I won't push it.

But at least now I know that angels are considered dangerous in your world! In my world, hillicurls are one that we need to look out for the most.

Just think of monsters who look a little humans and goes to target them.

I'd rather not take my chances with angels in any world, honestly.

They sound like demons. Well, some demons. Not all of them are humanoid, but most of them have no problems with attacking people.

[localweirdo]

Indeed, they are kind of like demons but they do lack some power. They don't have spells that will harm us in the long term such as cursing us. Although, you are right.

There is a legend that they did use to be human....

Not all demons have the ability to curse people. At least where I'm from.

Humans turning into monsters, huh? Can't say I've ever heard that one, where I'm from.

That is merely a rumor but isn't that spooky?

Makes you wonder how they ended up that way, no? Especially when it's not too common in your world too.

I don't think it's actually ever happened where I'm from.

But I guess theres always the stories of humans selling their souls for power and stuff like that. Maybe thats how?

[localweirdo]

I suppose so but it seems both tragic and ,admittedly, a little boring.

[belheir]

Boring?

Of hearing the same tragic tale over and over again?

Even after telling so many people of these cautionary tales, it still happens.

[belheir]

Oh, I thought these were just supposed to be scary stories, not cautionary tales.

[localweirdo]

It's a little bit of both. If they're not scary, people will keep on committing such evil deeds.

That and there's nothing wrong with a little scary stories about human nature sometimes.

[belheir]

I don't think you need a scary story to stop people from doing evil things.

And likewise, evil people aren't going to be stopped by a scary story.

[localweirdo]

I suppose not but it's still worth a try.

Either way, it's still my job to exorcise a few spirits and bury dead bodies. As terrible as what evil people can do, it's still my job to make sure the dead are at peace in some way.

[belheir]

That's a pretty decent job, at least. Are you some kind of priestess? Those are usually the kind of people where I'm from who exorcise evil spirits and the like.

[localweirdo]

No, I'm a funeral director. I'm used to seeing spirits and other mysterious things roam around Liyue.

[belheir]

I don't think funeral directors where I'm from do the sort of stuff you're daying you do. We must be from pretty different places.

[localweirdo]

Then what do they do in your world? Surely there must be some similarities!

[belheir]

Usually they run funeral homes where people can see the bodies before they're buried or cremated. That's about it from what I understand.

[localweirdo]

Is that it?

No helping spirits? Or talking with families on the grieving process? Or even fixing up the bodies?
