Just to take your mind off the weird vampire things:

What would your ideal Halloween costume be?

[A pause in writing, because...]

Before anyone asks, Halloween is a holiday where I'm from where you dress up in a costume. Some places, kids go door to door and get candy by saying 'trick or treat'. It was an old holiday that celebrated something else entirely, but now it's just a candy holiday with spooky stuff like... well, vampires and ghosts as decor.

...anyway. Maybe we can dream up some costumes that get rid of those dream vamps with some cool power, huh? Feel free to tell someone their idea is silly or cool though, I'm not your mom.

I don't really know. We don't really have any such celebrations where I come from... but if we had I'd probably dress myself as a housless spirit or one of the Maiar that serve in Mandos's halls. It seems like appropriate attire for such an occassion.

Maybe a ghost or something? The sheet kind. No matter what you add to it, people will get it and you can wear whatever you want underneath, so it's pretty practical, too.

I'd die really quick. I'd sprint for like, 400 meters and then perish right there. You'd shamble up and eat my brains before I could recover. You'd probably have your skateboards too... a skating zombie... that'd be terrifying, actually. Just the sound of slow wheels and "braiiiiins, yo.... braiiiiiins...."

What kinda witch? There's a bunch of different kinds. You could probably use your neat flower power without needing to be a nature spirit. Trap people in vines, make their allergies go crazy...

Or something else entirely. Maybe you make crazy potions?

The ol' sheet ghost, huh? I guess you could make it different too. What if it's like... the kind of sheet with a pattern on them? Ghost dressed up for a special occasion!

Mandos is the doomsman of the Valar, and the one that is charged with seeing to those that have passed on. Maiar are lesser spirits that often take service to whatever Vala suits their nature best.

I think I've already got a pretty neat vampire costume down. Though it feels a little in poor taste now that people are being attacked by weird dream vampires.

Hmm, the Maiar don't seem as fun for a Halloween costume [SORRY GANDALF, YOU'RE COOL AND I LOVE YOU] but Mandos would work. Halloween is supposed to be spooky and all.

As long as you aren't going and doing the same it's probably fine. It's spooky season after all, right? What's spookier than seeing a non-dream vampire at a party?

You underestimate how in shape I am. I don't think I told you how long I slept after hacking something. Like, straight, no getting up really. If I did, I don't remember it. I just slept for literal days straight. If sleeping was a competitive sport, I'd come in first every time. Can't speak for how my brain would taste, but it'd probably be curry flavoured for how much I think about curry.

Haven't really thought about it yet. I mean I HAVE but nothing concrete yet.

We kinda had one last year and the year before, so probably, unless the carnival troupe doesn't come back. Unless the dream-vamps are scaring them off... I guess there could just be a few small ones with friends if that's the case once the dream-vamps are gone.

Man, this place loves celebrations doesn't it. Do you think they'll come back? I'm kind of curious as to what sort of things a Halloween carnival would entail.
