Just to take your mind off the weird vampire things:

What would your ideal Halloween costume be?

Before anyone asks, Halloween is a holiday where I'm from where you dress up in a costume. Some places, kids go door to door and get candy by saying 'trick or treat'. It was an old holiday that celebrated something else entirely, but now it's just a candy holiday with spooky stuff like... well, vampires and ghosts as decor.

...anyway. Maybe we can dream up some costumes that get rid of those dream vamps with some cool power, huh? Feel free to tell someone their idea is silly or cool though, I'm not your mom.

I don't really know. We don't really have any such celebrations where I come from... but if we had I'd probably dress myself as a housless spirit or one of the Maiar that serve in Mandos's halls. It seems like appropriate attire for such an occassion.

Maybe a ghost or something? The sheet kind. No matter what you add to it, people will get it and you can wear whatever you want underneath, so it's pretty practical, too.

A shame they're not your typical vampires. Otherwise, the obvious answer is to dress as what they're weak to. As for myself, I haven't really given much thought about it. [This place will probably dump a stupid outfit on him anyway.]

So it's that time of year here...
This "Halloween" is also celebrated where I come from. But I can't say I've ever understood the purpose of these costumes everyone mentions.

What would make one into an ideal choice, for one?

The purpose? I dunno, probably just for fun, but there's probably some old significance like warding off bad spirits by confusing them. I only know it as a way that kids get candy in places, but adults dress up for parties. It's a fun holiday!

Hmm... well, do you wanna be scary or not? Scary can be monsters or whatever, or you could throw people off and dress in a whole chicken suit and just be silent the entire time for laughs.
