I always knew those western gods weren't right in the head. Their texts are full of hypocrisies, to say nothing of God himself.

For what it's worth, I'm an eastern god, not affiliated with what went down there. Dunno if that'd change your perception any, but.

Eastern gods didn't exactly help the situation.

Most eastern gods ended up becoming demons where I'm from, after God cast them down to hell. Though the same can be said of just about every other deity from every other mythology. All turned to demons, because God cast them down.

So now they're all demons, and now none of them are particularly good, outside of very specific circumstances.

Do you know if there's any way of changing the gods back, or are they stuck as demons forever? Because I can't imagine they'd be too keen on allowing all that to pass unchallenged in their domains.

Probably stuck as demons forever, since they were weaker than Him in the first place when he killed the original ruling deity Bel and fractured his power. They've been demons for thousands of years at this point, so it's probably a lost cause.

To say nothing of their probably antiquated thinking that doesn't fit the modern age anyway.

Though I can see why you don't have any faith or hope when it comes to deities. Yours have kind of failed humanity all around, on every level.

Very few of them care about humans anymore. The only demons I'd really trust would be the Genma type ones.

Surprisingly, only Demons are worthy of any sort of faith. At least then you know what you're getting into. And the current King of all Demon kind has already set his sights on killing God, so maybe something of worth will come of that in the end.

Normally I wouldn't advocate for deicide, but in the case of your world a fresh start would probably be a good thing. Certainly it doesn't sound like demons would be much worse than the gods who left you all to rot.

They wouldn't. Thankfully the demon Overlord likes humans a lot, and not even in a soul or flesh eating way. He'd be a much better god than the current one.

In that case, all hail the new demon overlord, right? Who gives a damn what someone is, so long as they care about others.

You're awfully willing to accept a demon overlord. Even if he likes humans a lot, he's still a demon at the end of the day.

Most people where I'm from consider him either a tyrant or at best some kind of benevolent dictator. To say nothing of what the government thinks, which I'm pretty sure is wanting to destroy him too. If they even can.

Well, it doesn't sound like there's much choice to choose from, and like you say, you'd have to be able to defeat him if they don't care for his rule.

A benevolent dictator is better than a malevolent or abusive one.

I guess. I just wonder how long that benevolence will last.

[He, personally, is terrified of that. That seems like a human thing to be worried about, so he'll cling to that terror all the same.]

I still think humans are better off without any divine or hellish intervention, though.

At times I'm sure they are. But there will always be those who cry out for salvation from the heavens.

I don't think many people will be crying out for salvation where I'm from. At least, not after what happened.

Though it's just as possible they'll curse gods for what occurred.
