[He's still getting the hang of this journal stuff, though admittedly the thought of it reminds him of older times and the legible feelings belonging to his wife in her final days. Nier's writing isn't particularly great. Not quite chicken scratch, but not impressive by any means.]

Not really sure how this works. Guess you just write stuff down.

I haven't been here long. Still getting to know the area. The people.

Name's Nier. I know there's another Nier here. I'm older than him, so call me 'Old Man,' or whatever. We aren't the same.

I did jobs for the people back home and I'm planning to keep myself busy. If you have something that needs doing, I'm your man.

Whats that— Oh you mean the sticker? Well I found out if ya think extra hard on an image you can get it to just appear on these journals an' since these things are basically like magical book phones, it just makes sense to use stickers too.

I guess that's one way of looking at it. But if we don't take some kind of precaution, a lot of innocent people are gonna get hurt. Shouldn't we be doing something to prevent that?

First time I've ever been called that, but yeah. I guess that's close enough. I just help where others can't help themselves. That's all. It's the right thing to do.

I know what you mean. All my younger brothers mess with me all the time. My older one does too.

Sounds like you have a lot of brothers. I've never had any siblings, so I don't know what that's like. Knew a set of twins back home and I think they gave each other a hard time every now and then. Knew a set of brothers too who ran a junk shop, but not sure what they were like all the time. I wasn't that close with them.

Yeah, I got five underneath me an one older one. Though we aren't brothers in the normal human sense of the word. They're all a pain in the ass, but... they're my pains in the ass.

ya know i didn't think about it that way. but i guess you're kinda right. all families are pretty weird, found or not.

If I were involved in a family that didn't have the unnecessary complication, I'd be constantly thinking it was a trap. Always wondering when something was going to go wrong or not according to plan. I'm good at improvising, so I prefer the unexpected in some ways.
