Anybody want some mirrors? After the crap with them during Halloween and the Ice Queen's place, I don't want them in the house anymore. I'll swap ya for building materials or help building my shrine.

You should be safe not giving them away. After all, a mirror's uses are numerous.

Sounds like you've had it rough, too, huh? I guess twice might only be considered a coincidence, but you can't blame me for wanting to play it safe and find new homes for these things. Just seeing my reflection is starting to make me jump.
There's someone I have to look out for, after all.

It is commendable your determination to see this person safe has you removing all potential threats from your life, however unlikely they are.
I shall take your mirrors in exchange for help with this shrine of yours. I have experience from having built a temple.
no subject
That's my job. I have to ensure that she stays safe while we're here.
Do you really? Awesome! I could really use your help, then! This is my first time building anything so grand, and I'd love to make sure I do it right.
no subject
[ Alas, she still hasn't made the connection. Now, a shrine... Granted, her temple was never finished and is honestly better defined as "a bunch or rocks" rather than a proper temple. But that's because she's never had time to finish it! Here, they have all the time in the world. ]
It should be something humble that will assist them in conducting their duties. Usefulness should be prioritized over aesthetics.
no subject
He sure will!
Yeah, I know function should come before form, but I can't help wanting it to look good, too!
[If he's only going to ever have a proper shrine in a dream world like this, why not dream big and make it something he's always wanted? It's not like he wants a grand shrine like Bishamon or anything. Just a decent-sized roadside one that's large enough to stand out and not get lost among the foliage or other buildings.]

I see. Your god is fortunate indeed to have such a devout follower.
Where must I go to acquire the mirrors and give my assistance? I shall be there as soon as possible.
no subject
Hehe right? Every god should have someone like me~
[Except the world doesn't really need more than one Yato.]
Okay! Here, I'll draw you a map.
[In short order there's a rather detailed and accurate drawing of Reverein pointing out where Yato and Hiyori's treehouse is, complete with cheesy doodle of himself.]
no subject
[ A treehouse... That's what most people have here, isn't it? She's a goddess of the earth, so she couldn't accept to live in such a place! She's better with her two feet firmly planted on the ground.
When she arrives, the knocks on the door and summons two of her Gallû Spirits. She'll need the help to carry all those mirrors back home. Hopefully though seeing her flanked by two very festive floating skeleton won't be cause for panic. ]

S-Sekki...!
[Except his shinki isn't here, thankfully, so it gives him enough time to process what he's seeing a little closer. That the not-so-wee beasties are accompanied by a girl, who herself seems harmless enough. Gathering his wits finally, Yato opens the door a bit wider.]
You'd be... Ereshkigal?
1/4
R-Right, I didn't introduce myself...
[ She steps back and hides behind one of her skeletons. She's not rehearsed her introduction for dozens of hours just to never actually do it! ]
no subject
I am she who tramples the Sacred Mountain... [As she speaks, her voice is a lot deeper and she sounds more serious.] All fear me for all paths lead to me!
no subject
You stand before she who reigns over the dead. [She puts her free hand over the edge of her cape.] The Queen of Kûr and Mistress of the Underworld whose name none dare utter.
4/4
Ereshkigal, the Goddess of Death!
[ ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... T-That was cool, right? She's worked on this a whole lot! ]
no subject
As for Ereshkigal, he blinks somewhat dumbly at how she hides herself behind one of the skeleton things, not quite getting what's going on with the sudden lighting change and smoke until she begins her speech. Ah! An introduction! A flashy one, at that. He can get behind this sort of dramatic theatrics and does so quite willingly, taken in by the tonal shift of her voice.
Once the cage comes out, Yato's eyes are wide with awe, taken in by both her words and the light show. Then there's the flourish with her cape and everything reverting to normal that leaves him with mouth slightly open and hands pressed together, before he begins clapping.]
Oh wow...! Goddess of Death, huh? Like Izanami, only much better!
[Man, why can't he get a cool intro like this?! He'll have to talk to Hiyori about working out some kind of flashy display for himself...]
no subject
(She can make an educated guess that she's likely a lonely goddess of death who was abandoned by everyone because they're afraid of her. That's how it always goes. Death isn't that scary!! People really need to learn and face their fears.) ]
That's right!
[ And lo: Ereshkigal sparkles. And no, she's not a vampire. It probably takes away from the "scary and charismatic goddess" effect she'd been trying to pull off, but that's just something that happens whenever she smiles genuinely. ]
I summoned my Gallû Spirits. They'll transport your mirrors away so you won't have anything to fear.
no subject
(She's also pretty spot-on with guessing what Izanami is like. But the main deterrent about her is the way she tries to get people to stay in Yomi with her against their will.)]
You even have spirit familiars! Man, That must be a huge help, especially for bigger jobs like this, huh?
[Ooh hey, sparkles too?? He does that, sometimes! Normally when he gets lost dreaming about being the top god, but still.]
no subject
Mhm-hm!
[ Better not speak of the downsides, which are many. They can't go five minutes without getting instructions... And those Christmas decorations kind of nukes any scariness factor they once had. That and they really want to kill any living being if they fall in places where death reigns. But they're still super helpful!
And she's their queen, so she's proud on their behalf. ]
... How should I address you?
[ She still hasn't got his name. He seems like a kind human. Because he's a human, right? Right? ]
no subject
As for how she should address him... He's so tempted to say "Yato-sama", but that would be demeaning for a fellow god. So he just settles for his name, regrettably.]
Yato will do.
[He flashes her a peace sign, because he's a dork like that.]
1/2
Yato...
[ Why does that sound familiar? She's fairly certain she's heard that name before. She doesn't speak with a lot of people, so that should be easy to remember where she heard it.
... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ]
no subject
A-Are you the god Hiyori spoke of?!
[ S-Shocking! ]
no subject
That's me! The one and only Delivery God-- er, God of Fortune, Yato!
[He puffs up his chest trying (rather futilely) to seem more impressive. Which is kind of tough to do when you're a tracksuit-wearing goofball, really.]
So Hiyori's been talking about me, huh?? Has she been hyping me up? Or has she been shit-talking me behind my back?!
[Depending on her mood and whether they've had a misunderstanding, he could believe either to be true.]
no subject
Such things make her very sad and are delicate to deal with (using violence till they apologize is usually the best way). ]
She has most definitely been talking about you in a most reverent and positive manner.
[ ... Still not what she'd expected though. ]
I hope you are treating her well. Hiyori is a precious friend.
no subject
Though big name skanks who tried to kill him for centuries are fair game.He tends to see himself in most people that are having a hard time, and that makes him want to help them rather than mock them. The news that Hiyori hasn't been badmouthing him, but has had good things to say about him leave him blushing all of a sudden. He's... not used to such admiration yet.]
Really? Reverently, too? Damn. I wonder if she's feeling under the weather...
[He mutters that last part, only half-joking. But he stands up a little straighter at her next words, nodding emphatically.]
O-Of course! She's precious to me, too. [More than he can verbally articulate.] B-B-But don't go telling her I said that...!
1/2
He's in love with her!! And by the sound of it, he doesn't dare speak of his feelings. Why does this feel so familiar...? Oh right, her love for Ritsuka which she's decided to never confess.
That makes her wonder if Ritsuka talks about her as often as Hiyori talks about Yato to other people? Probably not. She can't imagine Ritsuka sliding mid-conversation a "Oh and I work with this really awesome goddess named Ereshkigal" every now and then. It's really an one-sided love.
... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...
Nevermind her as she very sadly stares absently into nothing for a couple seconds. ]
