Anybody want some mirrors? After the crap with them during Halloween and the Ice Queen's place, I don't want them in the house anymore. I'll swap ya for building materials or help building my shrine.

[ She had a right to be worried about sizes - as Yato will now see for himself, she's literally Cookie-sized! She could fit in the palm of his hand! And her Raisin Crows are just as tiny! They drop her off on the windowsill, but still hover around.

She waves one warm, giving orders. ]

You, stay with me. The others, go on patrol, report back anything suspicious.

[ "Caw, caw!" Four of the crows flit off into the tree branches, and the remaining one sits on her shoulder. ]

[Living cookies, Batman! She's so tiny! It must be challenging and somewhat frightening to be such a small person in a world of giants.

Crouching down so he doesn't tower over her, he nods in greeting.]

Wow, you weren't kidding about being a cookie, were you? It's like the gingerbread man who came to life, only you're not running around creating a ruckus.

[Those are some tiny winy crows, too...! Cute.]

[ That just gets an eyebrow raise out of her. ]

That's something that everyone keeps mentioning to me... something about a gingerbread man and running? All Cookies are good at running... and I do know a Gingerbrave Cookie, but I fail to see why anyone else here would know him if I'm such a surprise.

Yeah, a gingerbread man who runs away so he's not eaten. Maybe that's why you Cookies are good at running?

[There's bound to be some idiot who might try nibbling on them if given half the chance. He would've been one at some point. Thankfully he's gotten better.]

It's just a story, so I think that's the reason people are fairly shocked by finding out you're a genuine cookie person.

... In my world, Cookies are not threatened by being eaten. It's only when I came here that I've been told... repeatedly... that your kind see us as a food source.

[ And it just keeps happening. over. and. over. ]

Better to be forewarned than snatched up and gobbled down indiscriminately!

[He's so damn helpful.]

That does make me wonder... are you all baked into existence?

[ Yeah, that's. Comforting. ]

Yes, we are all baked by ovens. Some are created by others to form a family, and others are naturally created within the ovens.

Wow, that's pretty wild. Although I guess not too unexpected, given you're cookies. Anyway, nice to meet ya!

[ She clears her throat a bit. ]

Mmm. Now, where is your shrine? We should get to work right away.

Ah, right. It's out in town, so it'd probably be easier for me to take you there. Do you mind riding on people? I can carry you if you'd like.

[cawpatrol]

I've done it before, and it seems I'll be doing it a lot during my stay here.

[ She doesn't even wait - hop, hop, hop! - to get onto his shoulder. ]

It does save on you having to run or fly everywhere. Hang onto your raisins!

[He raises a brow at how quickly she manages to perch on his shoulder, but with a slight shrug to himself he starts off to the riverside via jumping lightly across the rooftops.]

[cawpatrol]

[ She clings onto his clothes, grunting a bit but otherwise silent as the journey goes. Onward!

And right behind them are the crows! They do their best to keep up with Yato fluttering and flittering around his head. ]

To think this is a sight everyone else here can see...

Is that a problem?

[He pauses on one of the rooftops to glance at her, resisting the urge to put up a hand to keep her stable. She's doing fine on her own, and those little crows would probably peck him into oblivion he he tried to lay a finger on her. They seem pretty protective.]

It's better than riding in a pocket! Or a lunchbox.

... Don't mind me. It's nothing. Keep going - it won't do us any good if I complain about things I can't change.

[ She merely shakes her head. She has no choice but to get used to the way things are. ]

'kay. Don't worry though, you're so small that most people probably can't even see you up here!

[So not helping, Yato. But he continues all the same, until they're by his shrine in progress along the riverside.]

[ Being small is THE PROBLEM -

Sigh. She keeps that inside for now, so she can focus on the task ahead. ]

Hmmm. I'm unfamiliar with these things... is it supposed to look like that?

[It's probably a good thing he isn't aware size is the issue, otherwise he'd likely suggest a leavening agent.]

Pretty much! It's not meant to be a proper room or huge shrine, just a hokora - a roadside shrine for us lesser gods.

[cawpatrol]

[ He admits he's a lesser god? So he does know humility... another point for him. ]

Hmmm. I can help you carve up pieces to make them easier to build with, and my crows can aide in lifting. Give us the orders, and we will obey.

[Well, lesser known, if nothing else. (For now!) But he'll take whatever points he can get.]

Sounds like a plan. I'll draw the design on the wood for you to follow, and we'll go from there!

[He gets started on putting action to words, humming a little under his breath until a thought occurs to him.]

So are you like, a samurai cookie or something?

[ Blink-blink? What an odd question. ]

I'm unfamiliar with the term "samurai". What do you mean?

Guess that's a no, then. The samurai were a class of warriors who served various lords. You manner just reminds me of them, that's all.

I don't serve any lords. I give my all to protect my village.

[ However, she does pause for thought. ]

Although... recently, we learned one of our Cookies was actually a king from times long past. They'd lost their memory, and now they're leading the charge not only in restoring their kingdom, but stopping the Cookies of Darkness. They were always my friend, so I would do anything for him... but since he sent me out on a mission, I suppose you could say it's close to obeying a lord.

[Cookies of Darkness... it sounds so silly to a degree, yet utterly serious given Black Raisin's stoic attitude. He manages not to snicker, at least.]

Aha! See, that is pretty similar in a way! You have that air about you of someone with a similar disposition to them. Though do I dare ask what or who the Cookies of Darkness are?

[ Her face darkens... as much as a cute face like hers can, anyway. ]

An army of Cookies that intends to take over all of Earthbread, and rule over every single Cookie. They're led by Dark Enchantress Cookie... a Cookie of pure evil who wields destructive power. It was thought she was defeated in the Great Flour War, but she's been resurrected, and is now even stronger.

Before I came to this world, my friend... that former king... sent out to help find his allies who had defeated her the first time.
