Subject: Requesting Personal Stories About Adventures and/or Travels and Other Items in Relation to Dream Board Post #1205
I am in need of numerous stories about any kind of adventure, journey, or travel you may have embarked on be it in this world or your own.
If you've seen my posting on the board, this post is to provide fuller details about the situation. Last month I had been...trapped in a large tree located on the eastern forests, and within this tree are seven dogs which look like corgis. [Have an imprinted image of what the adorable fluffballs look like:]

It all appears to have been pulled in from another world and has remnants of its original magic in place. This magic is a protection spell and prevents the dogs and anything within the tree to leave. Should the dogs somehow manage to leave without it... They will likely die.
Even if it's for their protection, the dogs need and want to go outside. Furthermore, Should something happen to the tree they wouldn't be able to escape. Fortunately, a way to break the original enchantment and cast a new one to protect them as they live in this world has been found. It's simple and requires the following:
None of these are specific so it's whatever can be found, though the better quality, the better chance of succeeding. However, because of the number of dogs, a large amount of each will be needed to ensure they are properly protected. It would be better if there was a better solution, but this will have to do for now.
As for the adventure stories, as mentioned I need a large amount so I would like to ask any willing to share any personal stories they had. There are no specifics, but I get the sense the story should have some spirit of exploration and discovery, which would fit the purpose of the spell. These stories will be transcribed in a journal used for the spell.
Finally, I am looking to create a headstone. The tree and the dogs had a guardian before, however he perished upon leaving the tree. The remains have been buried, but a headstone would be appropriate as well.
If you have any questions, feel free contact me. You can drop off the ingredients at the Fairy Doghouse located within the Residential District. There will be a designated bin for the items. [He draws a brief map with directions. The dogs he refers to are the flower fairy dogs that were brought in a while back.]
Thank you.

What happened with the dogs' guardian is so sad, though... I'd be happy to try and make a headstone to commemorate him. I would need the materials for it, but that should not be a huge issue.
I think I might be able to help with providing a few adventuring stories as well.
no subject
I also appreciate your offers. I'll take whatever stories you are willing to share. As for the headstone, I've been debating on if it should be a wooden or stone, however Zidane has offered to help carve so perhaps wood? You could work together with him.
no subject
Oh, that is great! I'm glad there are so many people that want to help out. No matter what I can help make his final resting place a peaceful one.
As for the stories, though... do you think the dogs have a preference for what kind of adventure they hear about?
[ Most of hers have unfortunately not been so wholesome and romantic, as far as adventures go, but maybe that's okay... ]
no subject
I'll let Zidane know and if you need anything in particular to help in making it, let me know.
As for preferences...I don't really know. That might be something you can try to discern with your magic.
no subject
But that's a good idea. I can just ask them what they'd like to hear about! And if I don't have the kind of story they want to hear about, I feel that we'll definitely find someone in this place who has one.

I'm currently with the corgis at the tree if you wish to see them first.

[Insert neatly drawn mini map here.]
If you have any issues, let me know and I'll guide you here.

Eustace? It's Ori. I'm here...!
no subject
The dogs will be the first to notice, two of them "stationed" up by the top window. They bark loudly, their voices carried down as they run down the stairs and joined by the others as they reach the door. Eustace can be heard inside telling them to quiet down before he opens the door and sees Oriphi.]
Hey—
[And he's interrupted by the dogs barking again.
...]
...Better come inside before they lose themselves and run out.
no subject
Oriphi seems unbothered by all the barking, at the very least, her smile unwavering as she's greeted at the door. ]
They seem excited...!
[ She steps in easily enough, careful to watch out for any dogs that might be looking to slip through on their little legs. ]
no subject
[And as soon as Oriphi is in and the door is shut closed, all seven dogs immediately crowd around her. The older ones will be more "polite" and just wiggle their butts in excitement and sniff her while the younger ones try and hop up, their stubby paws only going up to her thighs as they bark happily.]
Hey, I told you not to jump—!
[Going to try and keep them off before they knock over the poor girl!]
no subject
It's alright! I'm used to dealing with animals. Though I have to say, I've never encountered dogs like this before! They're so cute.
[ She gives one of the ones that's standing up to paw at her leg some ear scratches! ]
no subject
In my world they're a breed called "corgis" and are mainly used for herding sheep and cattle. Their lower stature helps them avoid the kicks and easier for them to dart in and out.
no subject
Is that so...! Well, maybe once we figure out a way for these little friends to leave the house, they can come help with the sheep! Would you guys like that?
[ She hasn't yet cast the spell that allows her to actually speak with the animals, but the enthusiastic and cooing tone of her voice should be enough to convey the way that these dogs have immediately stolen her heart. ]
no subject
...But they also tilt their head as if wondering what sheep are.]
no subject
Moving further into the room, she takes a spot near the center and looks at Eustace. ]
I'll go ahead and cast my spell now - let's see if they'll be able to understand what I say.
[ She places a hand on her chest, closing her eyes as she recites a quiet incantation while she sits on the floor, surrounded by the corgis. When she next speaks, she still sounds like herself and she still speaks the common tongue, but it remains to be seen whether the dogs will understand her words when she says, ]
Now... what sort of story would you all like to hear?
no subject
There definitely seems to be something of a language barrier, and if accents were a thing, they have something like one. But she can make out something: "epics!" "romance!" "food!"]
this got away from me i'm sorry
She raises a hand to her chin, tapping on it with her finger as she hums thoughtfully. She is certainly not without stories, but she's certainly not as articulate or charismatic as a certain bard friend of hers back home. She spends a moment to think about what Colin would do in this moment, what kind of story he would tell and how he would tell it. At length, she nods, apparently having decided on what to say. ]
Well... Once upon a time, there was a... man? [ Would corgis from another world know what a half-orc was? ] Um. Folks all over came to know him as the "Jade Colossus," for he was mighty, and strong, and brave, and had green skin like a jade, but those who knew him and his home knew that he was the "Verdant Paladin." This peaceful village was deep in the heart of the woods, where the river was most bountiful and full of life, and the Verdant Paladin was its most beloved protector.
But one day, the river and the woods and those who dwelled within started to fall ill, and some disappeared without a trace. The village became abandoned over time, as those who lived there fled elsewhere for safety. But the Verdant Paladin knew that the sickness in the lands was no natural occurrence, but something wrought by evil magic, and so he set out on a journey to find a way to cleanse the lands of this cursed affliction.
On this journey, he came to know of gemstones imbued by a corrupt, evil power, vestiges of a tyrannical wizard of ages past. When he finally returned to his home, he found that it was one of these gemstones which had been responsible for what happened. With the companions he met on his journey, he searched and searched for the source of the corruption, vanquishing evil monsters along the way, and finally found the Corpse Emerald hidden deep within a cave into which the river flowed, in the hands of a horrible frog monster!
[ Ori tries to make the scariest face she can manage, which is to say it's not very scary at all despite her best efforts. All the while, Ori's feelings of nostalgia and fondness for her adventuring companions - the one whom the story is about in particular - have caused tiny green motes of light, like green fireflies, to float all around the room. ]
But the Verdant Paladin defeated this being called a Slaad, and its followers, and saved the villagers who had gone missing. And with the Corpse Emerald gone, the river and the lands began to heal. The Verdant Paladin was able to save and protect his home once again. The end!
LMFAO IT'S FINE
...And tries not to laugh at her rather poor attempt of a scary face, covering his mouth with his hand to hide the slight quirk of his lips and clearing of his throat.
But the corgis are listening!! FROG MONSTER!!! Some of them are lying on their bellies, and one wiggles forward, as if wanting to face such a fearsome foe. And once she finishes, they hop up and bark, butts wiggling in excitement.]
Looks like they liked it.
no subject
When Eustace speaks up, though, it's as though she's suddenly reminded that he's there and heard the whole thing, and she gives a bashful little laugh. ]
Oh, I'm glad that they did... I'm sorry it got really long. It was a story about a friend of mine, and I thought it wouldn't do him justice to leave things out.
no subject
It's fine. They would probably complain if it was too short.
Considering this is based off a true story, were you a part of the effort in saving his village?
no subject
[ She wouldn't have been surprised or held it against them if they got distracted by literally anything else through all of that, but she's glad they listened all the way through!
At his question, Ori looks a little bashful. ]
Oh... that's right. I didn't really do anything, though!
[ (Narrator voice: She did.) ]
I just helped them find where the stone was, is all.
no subject
Eustace and the corgis exchange glances before they all just stare at her, clearly not believing and look as if pressuring her to elaborate.]
no subject
...What?
I just cast a spell that helps locate specific objects, is all... My friends did most of the monster-vanquishing and stuff like that!
[ She's a healer, okay. ]
