Subject: Requesting Personal Stories About Adventures and/or Travels and Other Items in Relation to Dream Board Post #1205

I am in need of numerous stories about any kind of adventure, journey, or travel you may have embarked on be it in this world or your own.

If you've seen my posting on the board, this post is to provide fuller details about the situation. Last month I had been...trapped in a large tree located on the eastern forests, and within this tree are seven dogs which look like corgis. [Have an imprinted image of what the adorable fluffballs look like:]



It all appears to have been pulled in from another world and has remnants of its original magic in place. This magic is a protection spell and prevents the dogs and anything within the tree to leave. Should the dogs somehow manage to leave without it... They will likely die.

Even if it's for their protection, the dogs need and want to go outside. Furthermore, Should something happen to the tree they wouldn't be able to escape. Fortunately, a way to break the original enchantment and cast a new one to protect them as they live in this world has been found. It's simple and requires the following:

• Bee Honey
  
• Fish Scales
  
• Adventure Stories

None of these are specific so it's whatever can be found, though the better quality, the better chance of succeeding. However, because of the number of dogs, a large amount of each will be needed to ensure they are properly protected. It would be better if there was a better solution, but this will have to do for now.

As for the adventure stories, as mentioned I need a large amount so I would like to ask any willing to share any personal stories they had. There are no specifics, but I get the sense the story should have some spirit of exploration and discovery, which would fit the purpose of the spell. These stories will be transcribed in a journal used for the spell.

Finally, I am looking to create a headstone. The tree and the dogs had a guardian before, however he perished upon leaving the tree. The remains have been buried, but a headstone would be appropriate as well.

Ah. [ When he starts to walk again, so will she, with a new heightened awareness of her surroundings (if she didn't already have it before). ] So... it is less hunting and more avoiding them as you pass through?

Though I suppose that's not always possible.

In this case, yes. However you can use the same skills if you're trying to hunt something.

And even if you can't avoid it, even one second can make a difference between escaping or getting caught by an attack.

[ Wow, no pressure. Susato suddenly goes quiet, hoping to heighten her senses. A slight shiver runs down her spine, but she thinks it's just the weather. Her eyes don't stop scanning the area.

And then they come to a fork in the trail. She keeps her eyes ahead to see which way they'll go. ]

May I ask how you came across these dogs? ...I believe you said you were trapped inside the same tree?

[It's fine, she fine. She has one of the best people to have out here. But it's likely clear that when it comes to things like this, Eustace doesn't hold back and instills reality rather than dress it up to something else.

At the fork, Eustace immediately goes left, pausing only long enough to ensure she follows.]

It was by accident... I was with Alice looking through the forest and we stumbled on some foxes. One of them had a bag and we followed it back to where it found it. There we discovered the tree.

[ Susato easily hangs left to keep up with him. She doesn't know Alice, but that doesn't deter her curiosity. ]

And how did you break the enchantment on yourselves once you became trapped? [ How are they free? ] Or... does it only work on beings of the same world as them? [ Them, being the corgis. ]

...Alice wasn't affected, however, within the bag were some belongings that we had taken back with us. Our current theory is because I had something that was more personal to the original guardian, whatever spell was still on those items carried onto me. The moment I walked into the tree I lost my memories, so it was broken when I regained them.

But I think it's more effective on things from their world. The current enchantment will free the corgis, but there will still be some limitations on the items within the tree. We'll be working on undoing that next.

[ She listens, taking a moment to process everything before nodding. ]

I see... Yes, the corgis should certainly take priority. [ She'll have to remember to get the notebook from him that he plans to use before they're done here. ] How are they faring in the meantime...?

Content enough. I'm not sure how long they've been in this world, but whether it's the tree itself or magic, they have all their needs such as food and water. The only thing they lack is enough space for real exercise so they could be more fit.

[Some are a bit on the...chubby side for sure. But all the more reason why he wants to get them outside.]

They've at least accepted my presence and welcome other visitors they deem friendly, so it makes working with them easier.

[ Their chubbiness only adds to their cuteness, surely? But Susato sees his point, and is certainly glad to be a part of his plan. ]

I must admit, I am excited to meet them. I hope they deem me friendly.

[ Because she is! ]

[He glances back at her and smiles a little to himself.]

I'm sure they'll take to you well.

[And soon enough, the path widens and a clearing appears along with the giant tree. A small grave can be seen just behind it, the makeshift grave marker surrounded with flowers. Should Susato look up to where one of the windows are, she might see two corgi faces pushed against it before they bark and disappear, only to be heard again from behind the door as they approach.]

Just be ready—they're short but they like to jump and can be heavy.

[ As the path clears, her attention is clearly drawn to the tree. She drinks in the sight as a whole, though doesn't focus on any window in particular--until she hears a bark. She looks up just in time for the corgi to disappear, and she can practically follow it as the barking moves to the door.

Soon there's a cacophony of barking, and she remembers there are 7 of them. Her face is already lit up as she picks up the pace, suddenly next to Eustace. ]

I will try not to fall over! [ Although it doesn't seem like she'll mind too much if she does-- ]

[He can't help but grin a little before he reaches out and opens the door. And the moment he does, there is a crowd of wiggling, barking, tippy-tapping corgis waiting. They already recognize Eustace so he's old news, BUT WHO IS THIS NEW PERSON!?!? It's clear they want to rush out, but they only go so far before they circle back and hop more. So there's at least enough space for them to get through the door...sort of.]

Tsk, how many times have I told you guys... Come on, move, let her in first. And don't get too rowdy.

[Eustace will be the plow to try and part the sea of corgis, and while the older ones do back off a bit, the younger ones are still very eager and will definitely jump at Susato the moment she's in far enough.]

[ True to her word, Susato just barely manages to keep her balance as she pushes in behind Eustace. She bends down to meet with the younger corgis who take delight in jumping at her legs, hoping the attention will assuage them somewhat. It... does, for the few seconds their attention span allows. ]

Oh, my goodness. You're full of energy today, aren't you? Oof-- don't worry, gosh! There's enough of me to go around. Just hold on--

[ She laughs, clearly trying to make them all happy, however futile it was. ]

I forgot to ask if they have names.

[Eustace watches amused as he bends down to scratch the ears of the ones that behave and wait their turn.]

I believe they do, however I have yet to decipher the writing that has that information. That will be next after freeing them, but if I can't figure it out then I'll have to try and rename. For now they are all different ages, sizes, and markings, so it makes it easy to recognize which is which.

[ It's true. It's possible she's just imagining it, but they do seem to have their own personalities as well. She gives a nod of quiet understanding as she pulls double duty, giving chin scritches to two of the corgis. ]

I see. Well, on that note, please don't forget to give me the notebook you wish to use for the spell.

I'll get it now.

[Might as well because with how these dogs are behaving, it'll be easy to be distracted and lose sight of their purpose (as if playing with dogs wasn't their real one—).

So Susato will be at the mercy of the dogs for a bit as he heads over to desk where he's already organized a few things, pulling out the simple green leather bound journal he had chosen for this endeavor. He does have a few more just in case, but they need to worry about filling the pages of one first.

When he returns, the dogs will have calmed a little, but the youngest has pulled out some of the well worn toys and dropped it at Susato's feet, clearly wanting a few fetch rounds.]

[ Susato doesn't protest at all, and feels quite at home with the dogs. When the youngest one pulls out its toys, she is more than happy to throw them one at a time, watching as it brings them back to her eagerly, always with its tail wagging.

She does peer over to Eustace at the desk with curiosity, though. When he returns with the green leather journal, she will interrupt her playing to hold a hand out politely, just assuming he will give it to her. ]

[He's about to hand it to her when one of the dogs barks and shoves their face in her hand instead, blocking him.]

...Looks like they just want to play.

[A small sigh.]

Hey you brats, we need to work.

[ lThe dogs just grumble and whine in disapproval, making Eustace just sigh.]

[ Awwww. Well, it's a happy interruption Susato is happy to indulge, at least for a moment. When Eustace scolds them, she frowns as they start to whine, feeling slightly guilty. ]

Don't be that way. We're doing this for you, after all.

[ She is probably not helping by giving them the attention, but once they calm down, she tries to get the notebook again. ]

Is there a deadline for this spell?

[This time he's able to pass it to her without issue.]

Not that I'm aware, however it would be better before it gets too late into the winter season. Although this area seems safe, it'll be more difficult to traverse and I'd rather not risk anything.

[ She takes the notebook then, quickly licking her pointer finger so that she can flip through it more easily. She just wants an idea of how much of the book is filled already, but if it's blank, that's fine too. She had been prepared for that. ]

I see. I'd better make it soon, then. [ It is already snowing after. ] I can get started today and let you know my progress tomorrow? [ The day after? ASAP? ]

[It's currently blank, but he'll be able to send her material soon.]

That will be appreciated, but don't rush too much. There are still the other materials I'll need to gather as well. For now... Set a deadline for by the end of the week, the longest before the end of the month.

[ Oh OK. She was totally prepared to go full throttle, but admittedly it's a bit of a relief (for her wrists, mainly) that it isn't quite that urgent. ]

Alright... I'll start with my own adventures, then, and you can send me whatever else you have at your leisure. [ She shuts the book again. She no longer has her kimono sleeve as hammer space, so thankfully the sweater the powers that be have stuck her in have made it a size too big. ]

...How often do you visit them? If I may ask.

Right now almost daily.

[He crouches down a little to affectionately rub the head of the nearest one before running his hand through its leafy floof hmmm.]

Fortunately the tree's magic provides them with food and they are rather self-sustaining... But it's become routine for me to check on them myself.

[ Susato nods, as if to say, "I understand." ]

I was just thinking... it must be hard to leave them. We can stay and keep them company for a bit, surely?
