Passive Dream: Kero's True Form

[Perhaps it is because she is unsure, worried, about the risk of exposing herself here, Kero exposing himself to protect her if things were dangerous. But she is remembering the time she first discovered his True Form....

Another day, another Card to deal with. It seems. Normal, at least for Sakura given the last few years, even if there was a quieter period in between while Syaoran was away in Hong Kong. Once she had handled the Sakura Cards. She is trying to work on sealing Firey away, one of the four stronger Element cards, along with the other three of Watery, Windy and Earthy. She is struggling against Firey with just trying to use Windy, so switches it out to try Watery figuring that would be more effective. They're pretty evenly matched though, but not when Sakura manages to summon both Windy and Watery at once. She holds up her Sealing Staff, bringing it down against Firey.]

Now! Return to the form you were meant to be, Clow Card!

[The spirit of Firey is contained, sealed in card form. It's a relief, but Sakura doesn't really have time to bask in it. As the light from Kero and Mizuki-sensei holding him distracts her. As Kero glows, floating and becoming enveloped in huge white wings before being revealed in his True Form. A huge winged lion. Sakura stares in surprise and amazement. She asks who he is, Kero exclaiming that this is his True Form. That he got it just in time, as there's earthquakes occurring from Earthy. The earthquakes cause the ground to crack, Sakura falling down as a darker brown haired boy around her age, Syaoran, reaches to catch her hand and pull her back up. They discuss using their given names rather than surnames to each other, before Sakura heads off with Kero. Sakura asks if this was what was meant about the evil to befall the world if the Clow Card's seal was broken. Kero corrects her, telling her it is the work of Earthy. Sakura is told to use Firey on Kero, helping him to breathe fire as they fly to find the source, where Earthy really is. In using the Wood card, Sakura is able to restrain and capture Earthy.]

I did it!

[The last and final card. It had been a journey, even getting that far. Even before the Judgement. But that is where the dream leaves off. Prior to the revelations about Yue and Yukito. Sakura is beaming and seeming rather proud of herself yet as the dream fades off there. Though someone probably won't be thrilled about this being revealed. Even if Kero will find is freeing to not have to try hide his true nature as her Guardian.]

How very interesting. Your fighting style would seek to combine the use of a set of cards not dissimilar to those utilized by astrologians with the arcane abilities of a summoner.

A summoner? I'm not sure what I would call it. But besides the cards, I guess I can say since this is. Well, now everyone knows. That's seen this. But. I can also see things in my dreams. Things that haven't happened yet. But that is kind of tricky since I don't always understand it to make sense of it.

Kero-chan does have his True Form too though, yes. He really wasn't lying when he said it was impressive. I thought he was just exaggerating. Usually he just looks like a little soft toy lion with wings.

Ah yes, precognition. There are others I know of with that same ability - the ability to see things they shouldn't, things that haven't yet occurred. Where I am from, we called it "The Gift", though nowadays most people know it as "The Echo" instead.

I will admit it isn't often that small creatures like this "Kero-chan" can grow to such a large size. Is he someone's familiar? Or do you not know where he came from or who created him?

A gift or echo? I suppose that sort of makes sense. Like a gift of warning or foresight of things to come. Echoing back through time. I haven't had any weird dreams yet here but I guess we will see if that happens here or not.

Clow-san created him! I guess the same way he did the cards. With his desires, his wishes? And Yue-san too, I think he made as well. I guess, he was lonely too and he knew I might need help.

Exactly so. Yet not only that. Some are capable of viewing memories of the past. One might stand in the midst of a garden, for example, and see a vision of when the seeds were first planted and watered.

[But what she says next certainly takes him by surprise. Another civilization capable of creation magicks? It couldn't possibly be.]

Is Clow-san a mentor of yours? It isn't often I hear of others versed in the creation of living beings. It's something of a lost art, you see.

I know a few tricks using tarot cards, but I can't say I've ever worked with much less heard of a "Clow Card" before!

I think they are kind of unique. They were made with Clow-san's magic. From his desires and wishes in the moment. That's how powerful he was. He was the most powerful sorcerer back then. I am only starting to make cards myself more recently. I'm not sure if I can here as well. But if I do, everyone should probably just be careful and let me know and Kero-chan and I can handle it.

I'm sure I'll be fine, but I am interested in these cards your mentor made. Other forms of magic interest me.

I don't have those same cards anymore. Those ones, from Clow-san's magic, I changed to work from my own magic. And them created new cards entirely, myself. I only have Flight now.

Oh wow, this is really intriguing. I never knew that cards could be used for magical purposes.

Also, did your little friends change forms too?

They are -- well. Special cards. Made from Clow-san's magic. He was the most powerful sorcerer back home. Before I helped him split his magic between two people and that I guess made me the most powerful. He made those cards just by his wishes, his desires in the moment wanting something like that, something to make fire easily for example with Firey. I couldn't do that. Not at first, it's only more recently that I have started discovering I can do that myself. I'm not sure if I might still make new cards here though. But just in case, I guess this is good that everyone knows? They can be kind of dangerous.

But yes! He can change forms. He couldn't do that at first, I needed the special cards under his power.

Oh, so he (Clow) was a pretty powerful sorcerer who made powerful cards through just wishes and desires? That is really amazing. And the fact that you can make cards that are as magically strong as his is also wonderful.

That’s even more amazing too. I am curious to see or even know what forms he could turn into.

Wonderful? I guess. I didn't expect to eventually get that powerful that I would be able to make my own cards like that though. I guess it makes sense though. Getting more powerful as I get older and more experience.

He just has the two forms! Either the big lion or the little soft toy sort of look.

[ Aha... so when Sakura had told her that she only "knew of magic" when they first met, she wasn't being entirely truthful, was she? Not that Ori would hold it against her. She understands that feeling of wanting to hide certain aspects of yourself, for one reason or another, and especially so when finding yourself in such a strange, new realm. So instead of pointing the little fib out, Ori will comment on one of the (many) impressive sights she'd seen in Sakura's dream. ]

Familiar? I guess Kero-chan is kind of like one? He's one of my two Guardians. Yue-san is the other but he isn't here. Kero-chan's power comes from the sun so he controls half of the cards, like Firey and Earthy, while Yue-san has the power of the Moon with the other half. My magic specifically is from the power of the stars.

[She does feel bad in not coming clean entirely. She's just so used to keeping it secret back home. Beyond certain few people knowing about her cards and magic. Namely Syaoran and Tomoyo, along with Yukito.]

Harnessing the power of the sun and the moon… Fascinating! When you say names like Firey and Earthy, are you referring to those cards that appeared in your dream? It looked like you were containing the elemental magic or spirit into the cards, but you were able to use them, too.

I’ve never seen magic like yours, Sakura. It was incredible to see.

But I am sorry that you had your dream shown to everyone, like we were talking about before.

Yes, that's Firey and Earthy! Initially I accidentally unleashed them, freeing them into the world when I opened the book and unintentionally summoned Windy which scattered them while Kero-chan was sleeping. But my magic has gotten a lot stronger since then.

I didn't mean to show this. But I guess. Here. It's different? Harder to hide it. And others here have powers, right? So it isn't so weird?

That’s exactly right. I think most other dreamwalkers have at least some experience with magic, so you’re really not alone in all of this, and like I said, everyone seems to be really understanding whenever someone has a dream shared like this!

Oh, and, by the way, you looked so cute in the dream! Is that the typical attire for mages in your world?

The big animal was Kero-chan isn't it? So I wasn't wrong when I said there seemed something magical about him, after all! Your cards aren't any kind of magic I've ever seen before, either. Could you tell me a little about them?

Yes, that's Kero-chan. His True Form. He just looks like the soft toy to blend in more. I guess because Clow-san made him knowing I would get him. My magic isn't something I've been so open about back home. Only a few people know. That's why I wasn't sure on admitting it. To you. To anyone here.

The cards, they're made from wishes. From desires in the moment. Clow-san, I'm not sure if he was more intentional about it than I was. I didn't initially really realize it was me. That I was making them, once my magic got stronger. But Clow-san, he was the most powerful sorcerer, the most powerful magician in our world. Before I split his power between his two reincarnations. Then I became the most powerful. It's been growing ever since. I'm still learning, figuring it out, really, though. The cards are just one aspect of my magic. I can see things, things that haven't happened yet in my dreams. I can sense magic around me. I use the cards but I guess, I don't use spells in the same sense like in books or movies?

I understand not wanting anyone to know. It was smart of Clow-chan to give him a form that could easily be mistaken as a stuffed animal. Otherwise it would've been hard to hide him!

Magical cards that are made from wishes are a new one to me. Would it be okay for me to ask you to show me some more, sometime? Maybe I can return the favor... though the magic I know might just be more what you see in books or uh.. movies. But I want to learn about all sorts of magic, and maybe learning more about magic from other worlds can help me understand dreammotion magic, even.

Um. Of course only if you are okay with it, since you hadn't been open to it until now. I'd totally understand if you aren't!

It helps him blend in with people that don't know. I guess at least he will be glad he can strut around not worrying if everyone knows now, here at least.

I'm still figuring the dreammotion too. I sometimes have weird dreams back home but not quite like what I've heard happens here exactly. Maybe we can show each other? Hootle did seem curious about Kero-chan anyway, so maybe they should properly meet this time.

I hope he feels more comfortable not having to hide his true form anymore. Pretending to be a plush for so long must be exhausting!

I've heard a little, but I feel like I've only brushed the very surface on this dreammotion. Honestly, showing someone my magic on purpose makes me nervous, but if we're showing each other I think we'll be okay. And Hootle was very curious about Kero-chan so I think it's a good idea for them to officially meet!
