Greetings, to all who may happen to read this.

I have been meaning to make this offer for some time, but the timing has been ill-suited. At the urging of trusted friends, I have decided to offer music lessons to any who may wish to participate— over the years, I have studied and performed with a number of different instruments that I would be more than happy to assist others with, should this be something they wish to pursue.

My expertise is in violin, but I also have significant experience with flute and piano. In addition to teaching these instruments, I would like to offer lessons in learning to read as well as compose sheet music. With the growth of the theatre district, as well as all the talents put on display at the recent Talent Show, I believe Reverein's climate is ripe for such things, and I do not doubt that there are others willing to offer the same in the interest of sharing their passions.

I will be gladly accepting students of any skill level, and if I can be of assistance to others who might like to share their love of the arts or offer lessons of their own, I would be honored to be of service. If you are interested in any fashion, please, you need only say so.

I think that is quite admirable. Betterment for betterment's sake? One never knows when one might discover a new talent or interest.

Maybe I'll abandon all goals to become king if I just learn to play the violin well. There's something almost peaceful about that sort of life.

King? You are royalty?

I agree, however, that the prospect is quite peaceful. I was born nobility, as well, but I had no love for politics, only music.

Oh, I apologize, I did forget to mention that. I'm a prince of the Southern Isles back home, but I haven't gotten the chance to rule over the kingdom. It probably won't happen for a long time.

[Most likely never, but details.]

I wasn't aware that you were royalty yourself.

Not quite royalty, though my society does not have princes or kings. We have Lords, instead, though that particular system is in the process of being heavily revised. A much needed change, I assure you; still, I am certain we will find we have had some similarities in our upbringings.

Am I correct to assume that you used to a Lord? And you willingly wanted to change that system of ruling?

[Hans finds himself more interested in this conversation now. It's been a while since he's spoken to someone that might've had a position that he's always wanted. A similar one, at least.]

Indeed. I assure you, the title is not so glamorous as it sounds.

I know this may be a personal question, but what caused you to dislike your title so much?

[Such a thing wouldn't happen to him, right? If his bid to power ever succeeds.]

[This, at least, is something he's comfortable talking about quite freely, at least to a certain extent. He wouldn't be able to effect much change back home if he weren't.]

The Renan system of Lordship is one that encourages not only bloodshed, but treating other human beings as property, and disposable at that. I have no taste for it.

[Perhaps a fair enough reason, even if this system of lords is different than what he's used to.]

And there's no possibility for you to rule your land with your own ideals and rules? How they govern affects you as well?

I managed it to some extent, but not without resistance, and even then, the situation was hardly ideal. It is possible things may be different in the future, but given what the title has come to represent to so many, I think it would be best to discard the usage of 'lord' altogether. The future of Dahna needs it not.
