002 🌠 starflower sanctuary and a surprise

Subject: A couple special announcements!


[The message will come across the journals in the morning of the 11th, and before Tifa already begins writing, there will be inky, smudged, and noticeably small paw prints decorating the corners of the page.]

Hey Reverein. Tifa here! Eustace and I have another announcement to make. Two this time, actually.

First, some of you might already know this, but I've been wanting to open up my own place here in town. Been something of a goal of mine for a while, and now that the wedding's over, Eustace and I have been working on making it a reality.

Next month, we'll be opening up a bar and café just off the main plaza, and I'll be serving drinks, coffees, and food, but this isn't just going to be any café. Our plan is to turn this into a sanctuary for stray animals around town that might need a home, some food, or someplace to keep warm. Everyone will be free to meet the animals, and who knows... Maybe one of them will catch your love and attention, and they can find a more permanent, stable home.

Or, if you just like animals, feel free to come play and spend some time with them.

Look for a notice in your journals around this time next month! Hoping to have a grand opening when the time comes and see you all there, so be sure to stop by the Starflower Sanctuary and Café when we do!

We have some new additions to the family.

Really? Well, I would have preferred to talk to you about it myself, but it's not a huge deal.

But no, he didn't tell mention anything to me about a box.

I thought that you meant the [The word trails off there.]

What was Eustace doing with a box of condoms!? What does this have to do with the café!?

its got nothing to do with the cafe yo
this the first time im hearing about that
i gave it to him for the two of you for christmas
said you dont need it and guess i know why now

It's too bad text doesn't quite convey the amount of panic she's feeling. Maybe the neatness of her handwriting significantly dropping in quality?]

i know that the two of you been busy in bed
and thats why the two of yous got pups now

[Okay, he's only a little bit embarrassed that he had to write that down.]

Well, they're not OUR pups!

[Yes, she really did write that out in caps.]

What exactly has Eustace been saying to you?

[As she glares at her husband from across the room.....]

[Yeah. She and Eustace are still going to have a Talk later about what he's implying to these kids. WHO ELSE knows they have been "keeping busy"???? HE COULD HAVE JUST KEPT THE BOX AND SAID NOTHING. OR SENT IT BACK AND SAID NOTHING.



At any rate, she's thankful for the slight subject change and she is going to snatch this opportunity to move on, even if is she is still a bit flustered, and her penmanship reflects that.]

Ah. Well. Surprise! It'll be a café, bar, eatery, you name it. Hoping to make a little bit of everything, including some dishes I was famous for back in Midgar.

[Luckily for Tifa, Beat is very easily distracted. Especially when it comes to food.]

Yep. Ran a bar for two years.

Best dish? I'd say my most popular one was either my pizza or the eggs and chips. Guess people really enjoy something simple. Though, I've heard I can make a pretty mean chocolate cake, too.

oh man all of that sounds hella good yo!
im getting all sorts of hungry just thinking about it
if you ever need someone to taste test whatever you got im your guy!

Actually, I might take you up on that offer. Eustace has tasted too much of my cooking and I'm not sure he could form an unbiased opinion on it. But I have some ideas for cakes, cookies, and donuts that I'm going to need some help on... if you'd be willing.

I promise they'll still be delicious.

i aint much of a dessert guy but if you say theys good then im down to give them a shot
you aint gonna see me say no to food

[Except vegetables. Screw that noise.]

[How in the world is anyone not a dessert person!?]

Well, maybe that'll work out in my favour. If I can get someone who isn't all that into desserts to like them, then I'll know I've nailed the recipes.
