[The message will come across the journals in the morning of the 11th, and before Tifa already begins writing, there will be inky, smudged, and noticeably small paw prints decorating the corners of the page.]

Hey Reverein. Tifa here! Eustace and I have another announcement to make. Two this time, actually.

First, some of you might already know this, but I've been wanting to open up my own place here in town. Been something of a goal of mine for a while, and now that the wedding's over, Eustace and I have been working on making it a reality.

Next month, we'll be opening up a bar and café just off the main plaza, and I'll be serving drinks, coffees, and food, but this isn't just going to be any café. Our plan is to turn this into a sanctuary for stray animals around town that might need a home, some food, or someplace to keep warm. Everyone will be free to meet the animals, and who knows... Maybe one of them will catch your love and attention, and they can find a more permanent, stable home.

Or, if you just like animals, feel free to come play and spend some time with them.

Look for a notice in your journals around this time next month! Hoping to have a grand opening when the time comes and see you all there, so be sure to stop by the Starflower Sanctuary and Café when we do!

We have some new additions to the family.




[And their ink is smudged again as more pawprints appear across the paper. That's it. That's the end of their announcement. They have seven puppies to wrangle, so please bear with them!]

I was more or less referencing that whatever you may find yourself in need of, is something I would be willing to assist with. Even if it may not necessarily be a forte of mine.

[Although her times with the dogs has certainly helped. She's become rather fond of them in her own way.]

It would be appreciated and welcomed. You might even take a liking to one.

It is possible, though I am not anticipating such an outcome. After all, in a way, you and Tifa are their parents. It seems needlessly cruel to interrupt that. I suspect, however, that Dohalim would be quite good with them. He is a rather gentle man.

We would be more similar to grandparents than parents.

However, it is a fact we won't be able to keep all of them...as much as I would rather otherwise. Thus we do plan on adopting them out, but if we can we would prefer to start with those close to us to ensure they will remain within easy visitation distance.

[So they're looking for those they hold dearly to potentially be caretakers. Or at least to form a bond with the smaller ones. Perhaps there would be quite a few additional mouths to feed.]

I am not certain how good I would be with pets. I have never had any. I do have Boco, but it is more like I inherited him. I could not say I am familiar with proper chocobo care either. I am, however, fond of your dogs. In my own way.

[She can't see it, but Eustace is smiling a little. She's really reminding him of his old self as he can easily imagine himself saying those exact words despite his obvious love of dogs.]

I won't force you. I understand your position and I don't want you to feel obligated to anything.

For now, you can just visit and see how they take to you. And even if you did try and it didn't work out, we would take them back without question or judgment.

I would like that very much. I enjoy my time with them. Since I do not wish to cause them any emotional harm, I believe your suggestion to be the best course of action.

[That is to say that animals are not so different from people. They form bonds and can attach themselves to those they trust. She should not wish to be one with whom their trust is broken. It is, in truth, an incredibly tender and thoughtful sentiment to come from her.]

We'll set that as the plan then. Regardless, I'm sure they will like you well enough. Bring Dohalim as well.

I will make mention of it to him. I do believe he would be quite good with animals. He has the gentle disposition for it. Besides, I should quite like to see how he is with them.

[Perhaps she is testing his ability to be a parent of sorts.]

I would also be curious to see what the dogs think of him.

[USING HIS DOGS AS SPIES/PEOPLE TESTERS? Nooo...course not...]

His relationship with Boco is a complicated one. I think the chocobo is jealous of him. I can only hope the dogs will not be a repeat of such a thing.

Our dogs will likely be more charitable, unless Dohalim decides to try and take my attention away.

Do you think he is the type of man to do that? Dohalim loves attention, it is true, but I think he has a bit of courtesy in him when he is in a place that is not his own. I suspect he will be on his best behaviour.

I should hope so. If not, the dogs will be the least of his problems.

That sounds like a threat.

[But she gets exactly where he's going with that. Women tend to be frightening creatures, indeed.]
