Greetings fellow dreamwalkers,

My name is G'raha Tia and I have recently arrived here. [In a dream world? Close enough.] Having spent some time learning the lay of the land and what Reverein has to offer, I have noticed the lack of aetherytes in the area. I am well aware that this is not at all the same world that I am familiar with, but I would like to provide my assistance in making life here a little bit easier if it is possible.

Where I come from, we have crystals that act as a means for teleportation and faster travel.

[They also take more aether than most can afford to use actively, but that wasn't important here. Taking a moment to try to imprint what they generally look like, this image will pop up for people to reference from.]

Normally in order to use these, you need to attune to them with your aether, though I doubt the same will work here. Once attuned to them, you'll be able to use them as a means to travel around the town.

I confess that I am not used to having downtime, so it is my proposition that I can spend my newly found free time to aid any other people who come here as well. I have recently found out that my dreamotion is crystal based and though I have not experimented enough with it just yet, I believe I may be able to recreate these aetherytes. There will be some trial and error and I cannot say how long it will take, but in order for these to work properly here, I imagine I will have to experiment with using dreamotion as a substitute for aether.

[And this has gotten a lot more technical than he had intended so...]

That said... I wanted to ask for any information people may have that may assist me in my research to make this a reality soon enough. I do not know enough about Reverein just yet to make any large strides presently.

Well hard to find any balance when it's been shattered into fourteen pieces.

Anyway. I can't do it now and I should be able to. My guess would be to tie different aetherytes to different emotions. One for "joy" and another for "safety" or whatever. Then to "attune" all one has to really do is tap into that emotion.

Just a suggestion.

[Much more than he'd imagined. Now that just made him all the more curious about just how much He actually knew. G'raha hadn't really been trying to keep the Crystal Exarch identity a secret while he was here necessarily but felt there was no need to channel that side of him. He was no longer a leader of a nation, nor did his Royal Eyes mean anything while they were here. No, while the Exarch was still a piece of him, it was time to try to live for himself for a change. Like Lyna and the others had wished for him.

If Vanitas knew about that side of him and what had transgressed though, there wasn't much point in acting like it hadn't happened. He wasn't going to feel the need to change his point of view on the matter, but could perhaps speak more honestly around someone who apparently knew that side of him already.

But that was for another time. There was no point in bringing it up if there was no need to.]

Different emotions... Yes, I suppose that would be possible, but I do have some concerns with that. Much like if someone were to use an aetheryte and the destination were to be destroyed at that point of time -- however unlikely -- there is a high risk that the person traveling through will be stuck in the aetherical plane. What if focusing on an emotion causes a similar problem for how fickle emotions can be?

[But it's a fascinating idea nonetheless and definitely worth keeping in consideration. He hasn't dismissed the suggestion just yet.]

[ Oh he doesn't know anything about how they got back from the First. That had been something still "in progress." So imagine the surprise that Vanitas will have! ]

I'd think that instead of reaching the destination for "joy" one would end up at "sadness." Or whatever some person is feeling.

I happen to be a specialist when it comes to emotions. That's all.

It would be a good exercise of practicing control over your emotions, but that's not quite the goal here. Emotions are one of the main components here and there is much that could be done by utilizing them. However, if one were to have them based on a singular emotion, it would limit where you are aiming to reach.

The other problem lies within the aetherical plane once more. Though there is no such thing here, this is unknown ground and there's no saying if a change of emotions will cause similar problems. I, of course, intend to test out all possibilities myself before I will allow anyone else to try a possibly risky experiment. These are all things that will simply have to be fine-tuned before they could be available for general use.

[Which was a long way of saying: There are too many variables right now and anything is possible yet. Any number of problems could come from anything he intends to build off of.]

[ Yeah... Big old huge nerd. Vanitas gets it, for sure. It makes him snort on the end of his little book thing. Whatever. ]

That's sure a lot of text for something that can be said succinctly.

Nonetheless, it'll require some testing. [Dodging the comment.] Any and all information that can lead to possible solutions are all but welcome. I intend to use whatever information I can gather either from other dreamers or my own means to come up with some sort of plan.

You really are just looking to make yourself useful in any cpacity that you can, huh?

[He's going to have to be prepared for the jabs from now on with Vanitas, isn't he? Comes with the territory when he knew G'raha, but he didn't know him.]

If I can help make a difference here, then I will do my best to help out. I never did well with nothing to do.

[He's always had something to do to keep him busy. If it wasn't doing things for the Students of Baldesion, it was looking into his own research and party. And when that led his fate to the Crystal Tower, it led to founding a city. Having nothing to do now was much more strange to him, so he was glad to have something to throw himself into; especially when it would be beneficial to everyone here if it worked.]

There IS such a thing as allowing yourself some time to recover, you know. Have you even been here for a full week before rushing off to find some pet project to work on?

[You know, that was a good question... He hadn't really kept track.]

Who says I won't allow some time to recover? [Yeah... about that...] I assure you there's no need to worry about me.

No one is saying anything. The fact you're here already smacking your head against a problem is more telling than anything anyone could say.

Is there something inherently wrong with wanting to try to help, even if it is right away?

I think getting yourself sorted kind of outweighs that need. Then whenever you figure that out, go ahead. Do whatever.

And I plan to.

It'll likely take a while to get any meaningful progress due to the lack of information currently. Though I could hardly say that has slipped my mind.

Hmm. Yeah. It's definitely an problem. The lack of information floating around, that is.
