Greetings fellow dreamwalkers,

My name is G'raha Tia and I have recently arrived here. [In a dream world? Close enough.] Having spent some time learning the lay of the land and what Reverein has to offer, I have noticed the lack of aetherytes in the area. I am well aware that this is not at all the same world that I am familiar with, but I would like to provide my assistance in making life here a little bit easier if it is possible.

Where I come from, we have crystals that act as a means for teleportation and faster travel.

[They also take more aether than most can afford to use actively, but that wasn't important here. Taking a moment to try to imprint what they generally look like, this image will pop up for people to reference from.]

Normally in order to use these, you need to attune to them with your aether, though I doubt the same will work here. Once attuned to them, you'll be able to use them as a means to travel around the town.

I confess that I am not used to having downtime, so it is my proposition that I can spend my newly found free time to aid any other people who come here as well. I have recently found out that my dreamotion is crystal based and though I have not experimented enough with it just yet, I believe I may be able to recreate these aetherytes. There will be some trial and error and I cannot say how long it will take, but in order for these to work properly here, I imagine I will have to experiment with using dreamotion as a substitute for aether.

That said... I wanted to ask for any information people may have that may assist me in my research to make this a reality soon enough. I do not know enough about Reverein just yet to make any large strides presently.

Teleporting would be very convenient, but it sounds like it'll take a lot of research and effort. I only got here recently myself, but I'd love to help any way I can. As for ideas, have you looked up the actual physical crystals that can be mined in this world yet? Studying up on the natural catalysts already available here may help you understand the energy flow of this world better. The local gnomes may be able to help you too, they're the ones who first discovered the candy crystal mines.

[He's sure wasting no time getting into the details, maybe that's just natural to the researcher type? Still, a lot of people seem to have projects brewing right after arriving, and that's honestly kind of reassuring as far as Jude's concerned. Since they're all going to be living here for the foreseeable future, then it's only natural to want to improve on QOL, right? Dream selves or not, they're alive and conscious here, so they should do whatever they can.]

I have not looked into the crystals here just yet, but that would be wise to observe. There is much and more to learn about this world as well as any possibilities of fast travel here. There will have to be quite a bit of research and experimentation, but that is a promising lead.

Then that could be a safe starting point. As for travelling, the closest thing I can think of is when entering and exiting dreamscapes. I don't really understand the whole thing myself just yet, we really do have a lot to learn, but figuring out how that displacement works could be a clue too. The tapirs were helping people practice from the Dream Swings in the Central Plaza, you could maybe ask them on top of others here like us who have already been in and out of several other dreamscapes?

[He may be rambling, now that a fellow researcher's got him thinking about how to structure their project... It doesn't seem to impact his neat penmanship, at least.]

There is much to look into. I have yet to experience the dreamscapes here. That could prove useful to look into exactly how they work.

Me neither, I've only heard about them from others. We can supposedly create our own dreamscapes and enter those made by others like us, but I haven't tried myself or stumbled upon someone else's. The former sounds the most relevant to your goal: creating a world of your own that others can step into, and getting there as easily as walking through a door?

That would be beneficial, however I think it would be more prudent to try to step into one myself to get an idea of the process. If I can understand that much, I could possibly connect it to my research as well.

We'll probably get to do both, sooner or later. They can supposedly happen anytime anywhere, so you'll want to stay on your toes. The issue is trying to break the phenomenon down to quantifiable data we can work with, which can be tricky but maybe also easy, in a dream world where supposedly anything is possible. Science had limits, at least where I'm from.

Science is a rather subjective field from what I've noticed. There are clear limits, but I've come to realize it depends on what is considered normal. In some cases, magicks and science do not mix. Where I'm from, magick is just as much a part of our lives as science can be.

If there's anything to be taken from this place, it's that there are too many variables to really say how much science can really play a role in.

Same here, actually. The most famous quote passed down by the forefather of "magiscience" in my world is "once you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth." It does throw me off a little, in a place where I can't even tell what's supposed to be impossible anymore. All the more reason to be adaptive and open minded, you never know what you may discover.

That's all the leads I think could be helpful to look into, at least for now. I hope your research goes well!
