or a god turned someone into a spider and they just started infecting everything with their nasty from there

I don't think Eru would have relations with, well... anyone, now that I think of it. But, one of the fallen Maiar might have. Ugh! What a disgusting contemplation... but at least whatever coupling brought them forth at least caused them to be less powerful than their mother.

[Well, supposedly all things are working according to Eru's will, wether directly or indirectly... so God was the source of all this inconvenience in a way.]

Werewolves are disgusting things. Unnatural. A fell spirit bound into the flesh of an animal, changing it into something vile and terrible.

No? They have been as they are ever since they were bound to a wolves flesh, it's not something that is transmitable in that way.

biting and scratching will turn someone else into a werewolf

The only thing you risk from being bitten or scratched from a werewolf in my own world is a very serious infection.

More fell spirits can always be bound to more wolves at any time. Though I would not mind if they were to go extinct anyways.
