[Futaba's writing is... something. We'll leave it at that. She's pretty excited though, and she's ready to find others who are just as excited for ✨TECHNOLOGY✨ as she is here.]

Sooooo we all know that this place has no computers or internet or anything which is the actual worst, right? Unless of course you don't know what those ARE, but you will in a moment.

If we're talking computers, I got my laptop back! But with no electricity, I can't really keep it charged unless I kinda use up all my dreamotion energy, which isn't really a great long-term solution. Once we can figure out a better sustainable way to power it, or just figure out electricity, it won't be a problem. (If you wanna see what a computer is in a small package, lemme know. I'll even take it apart for you!) I know there were some crystals or something that gave off dreamotion energy or something that someone found? TELL ME ABOUT THEM, I wanna know how they work!!!

And well, an internet is probably a long way off, but I wouldn't mind having that as a pet project, if other people who know what it is can help me figure it out. I don't really wanna get into the hyper specifics of how it works, doing a whole TED talk on it isn't in the cards right now, but! Imagine being able to find something if we can connect to a network, or even— even some old vintage-style websites! Man, does anyone even make websites like GeoUrbs anymore?

Uh... anyway. So if anyone has some ideas for a good way to change dreamotion into sustainable energy or to figure out how to get it to work like electricity, lemme know because I have a very big itch to play some games but a battery life of like two hours isn't great.

[Look the latest version of Concluding Fantasy isn't going to play itself here, nor is all of her anime going to watch itself.]

[ Reading Futaba's writing reminds Zelda very strongly of a similar eccentric genius that she knew in her homeworld. The princess considers herself intelligent and capable well-versed in technical jargon, but there's always someone like Purah (or now Futaba) who can leave her feeling like a layman. ]

My apologies, but would you mind elaborating on what a computer and a laptop are? I can gather from context that they are devices which rely on electricity to function, but I am unfamiliar with your vernacular.

[ Futaba's explanation is actually very helpful. As soon as Zelda reads it, everything suddenly clicks. ]

Thank you, I understand now! I also have a laptop too, now that I think about it.

[ Excitedly, Zelda imprints an image of the Sheikah Slate onto the page. Futaba might recognize what looks like a tablet in an elaborate case with a handle on one side. ]

It's the only one of its kind in my world, but it works just like your lap computer, I believe. It is capable of doing things like quick computations, collecting and storing data, and issuing commands to other machines via remote communication.

[ Zelda laughs aloud when she reads "tablet." Even across completely different worlds, they thought of almost the exact same way to describe this device. ]

I would be happy to show it to you in person. [ She's glowing at the prospect, tbh. ] I'll even let you try to take it apart, if you want. I'm afraid it's quite impossible though.

[ Zelda has never seen the word "techy" before, but from context, she can already think of a few people she knows who would fit that description. ]

I am a bit of a techy, I suppose. Overall, my kingdom is not quite as technologically advanced as Reverein or the worlds of other dreamwalkers I've met. Much of our technology is powered by wind, water, or combustion. But during my lifetime, our scholars have unearthed ancient technology that is generations more advanced than anything we'd ever seen before. All of the machines are powered by some sort of infinite energy source that we are still studying. It's all very exciting!

I'm not certain it can be broken, to be quite honest. The device is over 10,000 years old at least and most of that time has been spent buried underground. I was not expecting it to work at all when Purah and I discovered it. She was never able to disassemble it back then and I fear I lack the expertise to try, so you are welcome to make an attempt.

[ Zelda is less worried about taking apart the Sheikah Slate than she would have been back home. There's been something odd about it ever since she received it from the wishing well and she would quite like to discover why. ]

A network? [ She puzzles over the concept. ] Would that be anything like the way our journals are connected to each other?
