I am sylvari, born of the Pale Tree. We are flora, rather than fauna - I believe that makes us more closely related than any other of Songerein's residents.

I am the only one of my people here. Those like you and I are a rare breed. It's a genuine pleasure to meet you.

Wait, really? You're an actual physical tree and not made of magic at all? Entirely physical?

I am a physical being, yes.

[ The magic part is...complicated. ]

We were formed in humanity's image, but that is where the similarities end - it is all an approximation. My body is made of wood and leaves, not flesh and bone.

Interesting! Where I come from, monsters don't have a physical form. They're all made completely from magic and turn to dust when they die.

I am not, no. Kingdoms and queendoms are a very human concept and not how we sylvari govern ourselves. We are a young people, so our systems and the way we govern ourselves might come across as immature or naïve to the older races.

Are kingdoms the norm for flowers like you where you're from?

Most physical plantlife can't even move like I can. There was once a kingdom of monsters where I was at, but everyone moved out of the mountain to live with the humans once the barrier keeping them in was broken. In fact, I think I'm the first and only one of my kind.

I can sympathize. I am also the first of my people, and I have been alone since awakening here. It is not easy, and not a plight others seem to understand very well.
