Zelda,

I know this has been rather embarrassing for all of us involved, and I apologize sincerely. I also apologize on behalf of Beat's spelling - I see now he could use some tutelage, and I feel somewhat responsible for the initial misunderstanding.

However, if you would like to spend time together, [ HNNNNG HE'S SO BAD AT THIS ] I would be delighted to have your company. I know we have plenty to talk about.

[ Trahearne don't make this a business meeting challenge (IMPOSSIBLE) ]

[ Oh Goddess, and of course Trahearne would be reading this too! Zelda just wants to crawl into a hole. Why on earth did she try to help out Link's silly friend?

It takes a minute for Zelda to respond, as she has to set down the journal for a bit and bury her burning face into her pillows. What is she doing??

When she does finally respond, her handwriting is quite as neat as usual. ]

Trahearne, in spite of [ Pause. ] this situation, I would quite enjoy an opportunity to spend time with you, even as a [ BIG PAUSE. ] date.

[ And back into the pillows she goes. What is she doing??? (What she wouldn't give to be able to ask Urbosa for advice right now.) ]

I'm delighted.

[ Is that a normal thing to say? Delighted?

Wait, he already used "delighted" above. Does he not have more words? He has been reading since the day he awakened from the Mother Tree and he decides to use the word "delighted" twice?? Zelda must surely think him a fool now.

Actually, it's fine. Zelda is a pleasant acquaintance, and friend, even. It's always nice to spend time getting to know the people in his life. It's just a date. ]

Why don't we [ ummm ] spend some time outside? The weather is getting warmer, and it might be nice to spend time among the flowers.

[ Also, he may or may not want to pick her brain a bit about plants. Not him. Just the non-sentient ones. ]

[ The mention of flowers is enough to break through some of Zelda's awkwardness. That reminds her—the Flower Festival is coming up. She attended last year (as a member of the Royal Court, no less) and had a wonderful time. Delightful, even. That seems like the ideal place for a date. ]

Come to think of it, the Flower Festival is in a few days. Perhaps we might attend together for a day?

It is, and that sounds wonderful. How about we spend some time together on the second day, and see what sort of activities match the mood of the day?
