So. If you had a friend here and then he's no longer here and he's pretty goddamn easy to find otherwise?

What happened? Did he wake up? So he's fine, yeah? Is that how it works? Because I know where he is if that's the case. I just want to make sure.

I thought about it before. Maybe it's like waking up from some weird dream?

I had this dream I lived with some Chinese asshole but he cooked amazing food and some other shit happened but that was the most important thing.

I think the fact I was living with some Chinese gangster guy who was also an awesome cook wouldn't even be the wildest thing is what's funny about it.

But yeah, honestly... I'm not too sure what happens when we wake up.
It's kind of freaky, when you think about it.

Maybe it just pops in at random times during the day. Like you're eating lunch at school and go "oh yeah."

But. In case you remember anything, try to remember Ijincho. Who knows, maybe I'll see you wandering around then.

Maybe if I remember anything, I can recreate some of those dishes you make. Show my friends that hey, my crazy dreamworld experience was real.

You think we'll be able to see each other in the waking world?

I guess there's probably rules or shit like that and whether our versions of Japan line up.

But if they do? It'd be fun, yeah?

Yeah. I dunno how that really works. It's wild, thinking we might be from the same world, but never even know each other.

Yeah, it would be fun. I'd like to hang out with you in Japan. I don't go into the city often, but I know a few cool shops I could show you.

They got this thing near the bay that's called Dragon Kart. Not sure how it works, but Kasuga-kun says it a shitload of fun and good with groups.

He says it's kind of like Mario Kart? Not sure what the hell that means but I guess it's good?

Wait, you've never heard of Mario Kart?

How old are you? I thought you'd at least know of that one. It's a classic!

The last console I had as a kid was a Dreamcast and even getting that was a stretch. My family was very strict about how much time I could spend on it.

[Not to mention in the Yakuza universe, mostly Sega consoles ruled. Of course Ichiban would play all of them.]

A Dreamcast, huh? I remember those things, they're pretty retro now. But I get you. That sucks, though, cause video games are pretty cool.

Anyways, if that game is being compared to Mario Kart, then it is good. Mario Kart is like a cartoony racing game where you use items like banana peels and turtle shells to attack your opponents while you race. It gets pretty intense.

Okay, then that comparison makes sense. Because he said you do get different things while you play. I swear to God he told me rocket launchers were involved, but Kasuga-kun has an overactive imagination. That's probably what it felt like to him.

That does sound like Mario Kart, funny enough. You don't get rocket launchers, but you get kid-friendly power-ups that are basically the same thing. So like, instead of firing a rocket, you throw a blue spiked shell that can snipe whoever's in first place.
