I've been under the impression that everything here is more or less made up of dream energy. While I've never used dreamotion energy to test the theory out, my working assumption is that when our dream selves cease to be, we'll just pop back to our own worlds.

Have you checked the directory in your journal? It's always fluctuating, so I'd start there first. If your friend's name is missing, then I think it's safe to say they're back home.

My guess is he prolly woke up from this dream place. I think if you got like a lot of that dream power you can force yourself to wake up, or sometimes it just happens naturally. I dunno.
