Hi, I'm Jason. I'm new and had some questions.
I heard living arrangements here are kind of a free for all. How do people find themselves a place? I get that it's all just up for grabs, but do how do you know which are actually available? Do you just knock on doors or try to open them randomly? I'm kinda worried about just barging in on someone. Has anyone accidentally walked in on someone that forgot to lock up?
And what's the longest anyone's been here? My friend Leo said he knows someone who's been here for more than a year.
Thanks in advance for any answers.

It really is a shame the tapirs never told you that, but there's magical locks on the doors whenever someone chooses a building to live in. If it's unlocked, you can use the space yourself! You may have to remove all the objects left behind, though.

It still feels awkward to just walk up to a door and try to open it. Wouldn't most people be kinda freaked out if they just heard someone trying to open their front door?

Back then, we didn’t have electricity, we only have abandoned buildings and treehouses to stay in, and the town was mostly deserted with very few people walking around. It was a lot of months of trying to get by and have the town settled in.

Well, I didn't, since no people were living here when I got here. So I guess that means I'm one of the people who's been here the longest outside of those Fae? A year and a half, maybe.

i've been here for about a year and a half! probably a lot longer than most people i think, haha. when i first got here there was barely anything around and half the town wasn't even built yet. there was just a bunch of really big tall trees that we started to dream and build treehouses in. if you don't see an empty one you could always build your own?

It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Jason. My name is Zelda. Those of us who have been here the longest have resided here for a year and six or seven months, myself included.
Reverein is generally a safe city and not everyone locks their doors, but the best way to identify an occupied home from an unoccupied one is whether or not it is furnished. Homes that are available will most likely be barren inside, and likely in need of cleaning.

I am Erichthonios, and much like yourself, I have recently arrived here, for lack of a better word. 'Tis my understanding that arrivals such as ours happen on a somewhat predictable basis. Yet, it would seem that, while housing of sorts does exist, there is a certain lack of organization in alloting it.
[Hence, the current problem.]
I have been considering what might be the best way to remedy this situation.

Did you have any ideas?
There would be blood in the streets if the housing was like the FFXIV wards
better yet, like the old "click this button for 24 hours and still lose to a bot" system
I would now like to thank my buddy Chips who has somehow always managed to win against the bots.
